Women’s Empowerment & Child Protection

The Women’s Empowerment & Child Protection Program at Hope and Care for Development (HCD) is dedicated to uplifting women and safeguarding the rights, safety, and well-being of children across Western Equatoria State. Through this program, HCD works to create a community where women can thrive economically, socially, and emotionally—and where every child grows up protected, supported, and valued.

We empower women by providing vocational training, entrepreneurship skills, literacy programs, leadership development, and access to economic opportunities. These initiatives help women strengthen their independence, support their families, and contribute meaningfully to community development.

At the same time, the program focuses on protecting children from abuse, neglect, exploitation, and gender-based violence. We work closely with families, schools, community leaders, and local authorities to promote safe environments where children can learn, grow, and reach their full potential. Our activities include awareness campaigns, community dialogues, counseling support, and referral pathways for vulnerable children and survivors.

By addressing gender inequality, empowering women with essential skills, and ensuring strong protective systems for children, the program helps build a more just and resilient society.
